With deep sadness and heavy hearts, family, friends, and the Dawsonville, Georgia, community are mourning the passing of Erika Holbrook Woody, a beloved wife, mother, hairstylist, and friend who passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the age of 45. Her death has left a profound void among all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born on September 23, 1980, Erika was a lifelong member of the Dawsonville community and a devoted member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was a 1999 graduate of Dawson County High School and later pursued her passion for beauty and creativity by earning her cosmetology license in 2006.

Erika built a meaningful career as a hairstylist at Platinum Scissors in Dawsonville, where she was not only known for her talent but also for the genuine relationships she formed with coworkers and clients. She loved her work family deeply and brought warmth, kindness, and positivity to everyone who sat in her chair.

Those who knew Erika describe her as a generous and compassionate soul who lived life with purpose and joy. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and she was known for offering prayers, encouragement, and kindness to anyone who needed support—even strangers. Her caring heart and willingness to help others made her someone truly unforgettable.

Family was the center of Erika’s world. She loved her husband fiercely and treasured every moment with her children, Laila and Rhett, who brought her endless happiness. She shared a special bond with her parents, Jimmy and Sheila Holbrook, with her mother being her best friend and her father holding a special place in her heart. Erika also had a close relationship with her younger brother, Blake, whom she lovingly considered her first baby.

Outside of work and family, Erika enjoyed spending time near the water, shopping, relaxing, and making memories with the people she loved. Her bright personality, contagious smile, and ability to make others feel valued left a lasting impression on everyone around her.

Erika is survived by her husband, Kyle Woody; children, Laila Woody and Rhett Woody; parents, Jimmy and Sheila Holbrook; siblings, Camilla Hood (Jeff), Sandy Holbrook, and Blake Holbrook (Nikki); along with extended family members, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who will continue to cherish her memory.

A celebration of Erika’s life will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the arbor of Lumpkin Campground, with Rev. Jason Hamby, Rev. Scott Sorrells, and Rev. Dennis Bottoms officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Liberty Baptist Church in Erika’s honor.

Erika Woody will be remembered as a woman of faith, love, generosity, and compassion. Though she has left this world too soon, the love she shared and the lives she touched will continue to be treasured forever.
