Justin Hanley Acton, MA Death, Obituary

Family, friends, classmates, and the Acton, Massachusetts, community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Justin Hanley, who passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the age of 16. Though his life was tragically brief, Justin leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, determination, and a joyful spirit that touched everyone who knew him.

Born on February 11, 2010, in Boston, Justin was the beloved son of Bill and Ann-Marie Hanley and the cherished younger brother of Jacob and Will Hanley. He attended Lexington Christian Academy, where he found a close-knit, Christ-centered community that helped shape his character and deepen his faith.

Justin approached life with unmatched enthusiasm and poured his heart into everything he pursued. Basketball was one of his greatest passions, and he spent countless hours perfecting his skills, constantly challenging himself to improve. A devoted Boston sports fan, he rarely missed watching the Celtics or Patriots with his family, sharing spirited conversations and unforgettable game-day moments.

Beyond basketball, Justin loved adventure. Whether riding dirt bikes and ATVs, boating and tubing at the family’s New Hampshire lake house, or seeking thrills on roller coasters, he embraced every opportunity with courage and excitement. More recently, he discovered a passion for bodybuilding, celebrating every new personal record and inspiring those around him with his dedication and relentless work ethic.

Justin also enjoyed spending late nights playing video games with his brothers, sharing meals with family, and indulging in his favorite plain hamburgers and his mother’s homemade chocolate chip cookies. His love for his family was evident in every moment they spent together, and his happiest memories were made alongside cousins and loved ones during annual summer gatherings.

At the center of Justin’s life was his Christian faith. His favorite Bible verse, Philippians 4:13 — “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” reflected the way he lived each day with confidence, perseverance, and trust in God. He faithfully attended church, volunteered in the café at Mount Hope Christian Center, and was deeply encouraged by his grandmother, Rita, and his church family.

Justin is survived by his parents, brothers, grandmother, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, energy, and genuine heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 23, at Crossroads Community Church in Boxborough, Massachusetts, followed by a reception. The family will hold a private burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to establish the Justin Hanley Memorial Scholarship Fund at Lexington Christian Academy, ensuring that his legacy of faith and education continues to bless future generations.

Though deeply missed, Justin Hanley’s adventurous spirit, unwavering faith, and compassionate heart will forever remain an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
