The Alden, New York, community is mourning the unexpected passing of Paul D. Danson, who died on July 10, 2026. His sudden loss has left family, friends, and all who knew him heartbroken as they remember a man whose kindness, loyalty, and vibrant spirit touched countless lives.
Paul was the beloved son of Larry and Jill Danson and Paul (Leslie) Pitz. He was a cherished brother to Brian (Samantha) Danson and Amanda (Chris) Potts, and a proud uncle to Austyn and Connor Meyers and Arianna Potts. He was also the treasured grandson of Rosemary Cummings and the late Daniel Stalica and is lovingly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and a wide circle of dear friends.
Among those closest to him were his best friends Zack, Heidi, and Zander, along with longtime friends Brad Maderer, Mike Aargauer, and many others who were fortunate to share in his life. Paul will be remembered for the genuine friendships he cultivated, his generous heart, and the unwavering support he offered to those around him. His warm personality and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
As family and friends come to terms with this tremendous loss, they are finding comfort in the many memories they shared with Paul and in the love that continues to surround them. His legacy of friendship, compassion, and devotion to those he cared about will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, July 19, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Charles Meyer Funeral Home, 13228 Broadway, Alden, New York. A Celebration of Life will follow from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post, 13143 Broadway, Alden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ride for Roswell/Roswell Park Alliance Foundation in Paul’s memory, honoring a cause that was meaningful to him.
